Asking Celebs About Their Syria Stance
September 9, 2013 1 Comment
I read a story, Friday night, chronicling fourteen celebrities who were big anti-war activists back in 2002/2003, but who seem to have been quiet with the threat of more military action by the United States in the Middle East looming, and I thought to myself, “If the celebs in this story are on Twitter, I’m going to tweet at them asking why they were protesting Iraq, but not Syria.”.
So I did some Googling too see which ones were on Twitter and what they had tweeted &/or been reported as saying about the Syrian situation, and tweeted with them about it.
Its one of the things I love about Twitter. Ten years ago, I wouldn’t have been able to “talk” to any of these celebrities, but today, a few minutes on my PC and I’m in their face!
Now, of the fourteen celebrities mentioned in the article Martin Sheen, Sean Penn, George Clooney, Janeane Garofalo & Jessica Lange don’t appear to have a Twitter presence, so I couldn’t connect with them, but I did with the others…
As I write this, at around 2:00am on 9/7, (I have scheduled the posting for 10:00AM EST on 9/9), I have had no responses from the celebrities themselves, though I have had a couple of retweets and one “favorite”. If/When any responses come back to me, I will try to remember to come back and edit them in.
