Do They Get A Parade, Too?

According to an article at The Daily Caller, titled White House loosens border rules for 2012, written by Neil Munro, “…new rules were quietly announced Friday with a new memo from top officials at the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency…”.
Uh-huh… “quietly announced Friday“… because who gives a crap what’s going on in government on a Friday, right? That tactic really pisses me off, no matter who is using it.
Here’s some selected snippets of the piece, with my reactions, which I also posted as a reply to the article.
“…“The deliberate non-enforcement of our immigration laws in this administration certainly seems politically motivated,” said [Kris] Kobach [Kansas’ Secretary of State]…”
No shit, Sherlock…
“…adding “how exactly they expect to win votes by doing this is beyond me.”…”
Because they assume that anyone they pander to in this way, (and let’s remember, this article talks about Hispanics, but illegal immigrants come from all over), will gratefully vote for them in return.
“…It is not a crime to be be here illegally,” claimed B. Loewe [a spokesman for the National Day Laborers Organizing Network]…”
This is a f*****g crazy statement! They are here, whatever the circumstances, (snuck in, expired visa, etc.), in some manner that is contradictory & outside of the Law on this matter. It’s like saying its not a crime to be taking people’s money illegally.
“…“Local law-enforcement enforcing immigration laws is a bad idea.”…”
Well someone’s got to enforce the Laws. No-one really seems to want to at the Federal level.
“…Immigrant advocacy groups said they want to get more from the administration. “We’re continuing to work with the administration for them to show strong leadership and advancing immigration reform,” said [Laura] Vasquez [of La Raza]…”
*sarcasm on* Ooh… I’m so surprised… *sarcasm off*
“…“When were talking about a drain on the economy,” he [B. Loewe] said, “we should look at the corporations that refuse to pay back their due.”…”
Their due? Its not enough that these companies provide jobs, services and products for Americans?
“…“Latino voters are very engaged and watching carefully what is happening with immigration policies,” said Vasquez, “because they’re deeply effected by it, either because they know someone impacted by it, or themselves are impacted by it.””
I may not know anyone affected by these policies, but as an immigrant myself, I feel affected and just in case you wondered where I stand, I sure hope that every one of those illegal immigrants coming from my mother country get what they deserve, through the due process.
